My name is Ginger Henderson, and I am the Reading Specialist for JF Shields. Before joining JF Shields, I worked as the Director of Education for WITS Games, Inc., creating dynamic, engaging instructional products for the education market. I also have experience as a freelance educational writer, providing curriculum, assessments, and lesson correlations for major educational publishers such as Pearson, Weigl, and McGraw-Hill. Additionally, I have served as a staff writer for Flourish Magazine, providing article writing relating to marriage, parenting, family life, and education. I’ve also published two fictional novellas for the Young Adult market under my penname, Reese Reed.
I attained my Bachelor’s in 1999 from Troy State University. I began my educational experience at Monroe Academy where I taught pre-k for one year. I then moved to Geneva, Alabama and taught one year of Kindergarten and four years of second grade at James A. Mulkey Elementary School. After taking two years off to raise my young family, I returned to education in 2007, working at Hillcrest Elementary School in Enterprise, Alabama as a second grade teacher. I remained at Hillcrest Elementary until 2013, when my family and I moved back to Frisco City.
I’m a wife of 15 years to my husband Matt, and we have three boys. Matt has retired from the field of education and currently runs “The Shrimp Shack” in Frisco City.
When I’m not teaching or writing, I enjoying reading and crocheting.
