A Letter from Our Principal
It is an honor to return to the community that shaped me and to serve as the next principal of J.F. Shields High School, the very school I graduated from as class Salutatorian. Guided by the belief that “One is too small a number to achieve greatness” (John C. Maxwell), I am committed to leading with collaboration, unity, and purpose to uplift the staff, students, families, and communities we serve. Preparing our children to be productive members of society is a journey that requires the shared commitment of all of us.
I bring over two decades of experience in education, most recently serving as a Regional Math Specialist for the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI), where I worked closely with the Alabama State Department of Education, regional and district leaders, and secondary mathematics teachers across the southwest region of the state.
I deeply value my family, my community, and empowering others. I am a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. With the love and support of my family and friends, I have always been encouraged to pursue excellence and uplift others. I am also grateful for the opportunity to watch the successes of former students and teachers as they grow and develop, which continues to inspire my commitment to education.
I look forward to leading J.F. Shields High School with excellence, unity, and a shared vision for student success.
