Principal's Bio
A native of Beatrice, Alabama, she is a proud 1997 graduate of J.F. Shields High School. Her commitment to lifelong learning and educational excellence is reflected in her extensive academic achievements. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Alabama A&M University, a Master of Education and an Education Specialist degree in Mathematics from Alabama State University, a Post-Master’s certification in Instructional Leadership from the University of West Alabama, and both a Post-Master’s certification in Human Performance Improvement and a Doctor of Philosophy in Instructional Design and Development from the University of South Alabama.
With 23 years of experience in education, she has dedicated her career to advancing student achievement and supporting educational excellence. Her professional journey includes teaching mathematics in grades 5–12, serving as a Mathematics Specialist with the Alabama State Department of Education as field support staff, and ultimately transitioning into educational leadership as a principal. Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about mathematics education, instructional improvement, and developing effective learning environments for students and educators alike.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, she is the proud mother of two amazing children, Kataviya and AJ, who continue to inspire her dedication to leadership, service, and lifelong learning. Her career reflects a steadfast commitment to empowering others through education and creating opportunities for success in schools and communities across Alabama.
